ADD/ADHD lack vital neurotransmitters or their neurotransmitters do not fire correctly, which explains their inability to focus, concentrate, or loss of memory. It's important that their bodies are given the proper amino acids to synthesize these neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, etc). Neurotransmitters carry nerve impulses along a neuro-pathway transmitting messages between the nerve cells. So basically neurotransmitters are the roads or the pathways that are laid down when nerve impulses are trying to get from A to B or to “talk” to one another. There are many different types of nerve impulses that do not get to their destination when an individual is amino deficient. A great support for ADD/ADHD is adding neurotransmitter supplements to their vitamin regimen daily.

I use two products to help create neurotransmitters for my son, Rhodiola & Neu-BeCalm’d. I love both of these products! I alternate my son between the two. You should try both products and see which one works best for you or your child. Both of these products are very similar in the fact that help synthesize Norepinephrine, Serotonin, and Dopamine neurotransmitters. However, Neu-becalm contains amino acids and calcium/magnesium. Rhodiola is an herbal stress adaptogen and is considered to be one of the most resilient of it's kind. But since it's an herb, it's best to cycle off this product. What works best for Charlie is 2 months on ( Mon-Fri on, & Sat-Sun off) and 1 month off. In the beginning of our journey, Charlie had problems sitting still in class all day. We gave him Biometics Cal/Mag after breakfast but his body would burn through it by lunch time. So we would have to keep a bottle of chewable Neu-becalm's at school to keep him from getting restless again. Thank the lord that Charlie no longer becomes fidgety during class! Now the only time we use Neu-becalm is on our off month from Rhodiola or if Charlie stays up late studying for a test. He can't take Biometics Get-Go-N at 10pm because he'll be get-go-n until 3am. Neu-becalm keeps him focus late in the evenings and allows him to go to bed when he's ready. If he has problem with his memory than he will add 1 tsp of Bio Alert when he takes his Neu-becalm capsule.

Biometics supplement Get-go-n has Tyrosine (natural antidepressant) which synthesizes Dopamine. Biometics Bio Alert has Choline which makes the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine (memory neurotransmitter). All of these additional amino acids work together hand in hand for individuals with ADD/ADHD.

Tip: When Charlie first started on Neu-becalm, he was also taking Biometics Get-go-n and Bio Alert, so he would only took 2-4 capsules a day versus the recommend dose of 4-6 capsules. Currently he either takes 2 capsules of Neu-becalm or 2 capsules of Rhodiola with his Biometics AM drink always on an empty stomach. He waits 30 minutes before he eats. If you eat your body will break down the protein in the food first and it will not absorb the amino acids.
